Yes, I am so thrilled to let you know that I am about to launch my new book Kick Your excuses Goodbye. Actually, it’s the book that has already impacted people from all around the globe. The book was named No Condition is Permanent. But after much thinking, I have decided to change the title and the cover.

The new look and title is definitely going to catapult sales. The designer just finished the cover. It is absolutely stunning! The printer is setting up the pages. Talking about hot from the press! In my view, this a brand new book.

Thousands have already benefited from this book. Now it’s your turn. Words are not enough to describe my excitement when I receive letters, emails, and phone calls from people telling how No Condition is Permanent changed their lives. I am even more excited when I go to amazon.com and read so many nice testimonials from people about the book.

But I am even more excited about the content of the book and the great endorsements I picked from people like Brian Tracy, Les Brown, Nido Qubein, Mark Victor Hansen, and Charlie Tremendous Jones.

Jeffrey Gitomer wrote an outstanding foreword that is sure to help boost sales. I will keep posting more information as we get close the launch date.

Small business owners need to get it in their head that chasing clients in order to get more business is the wrong way to go about it. When we chase people to buy, they run way. Instead we have to work on becoming a magnet that attracts people unto us.

This strategy is among many well kept secrets I will be sharing with the audience in Montreal. The seminar is a full-day-no-none-sense session. It will be very experiential where the participants will have to create their business model before they leave.

And they will be held accountable for their results. A series of tele seminars will be followed. What I will be sharing with them is not rhetoric or clichés. I have used and apply those strategies successfully.

That's how I went from extreme poverty and diseases in a tiny village in Haiti to living my dream in America. I went from making $5.45 as doorman in Atlanta to making $5,ooo for a one-hour keynote presentation. And I work a lot less than I used to. Heck, I am not even sure that what I do is work at all.

I truly enjoy what I do.

Rene Godefroy

Jeffrey Gitomer's Foreword For The Book No Condition is Permanent

Welcome to the Renaissance Waverly Hotel. Can I help you with your bags? Those are the first words spoken to me by Rene Godefroy. As he put my bags onto the luggage cart he noticed my book, The Sales Bible.

Did you write that book? Yes I did. I smiled puffing out my chest a bit. How can I get a copy? he asked without hesitating. Ill tell you what, you can get one tonight. Would you rather have a book or a tip? Ill take the book! he responded with a big smile.

Are you a member of the National Speakers Association? Rene asked. Yes, I am. How do you know about that organization? I was a bit taken aback by his question. How does a bellman know about the NSA? Im a member of the Georgia Speakers Association myself, and I plan to join the National this year. Cool. Are you a speaker? Yes, I am, he said with the self-assurance o a twenty-year veteran.

We then played the name-game for a few minutes. Do you know this guy, do you know that guy. Turns out he knew all the people that mattered, at least all the ones I knew.

What are you doing working as a bellman? I wanted to know. Im not making a full-time living as a speaker, so I do this for extra money, he said as he smiled. This guy sure smiles a lot, I thought.

I wondered how many other speakers in the vaunted National Speakers Association began their careers as bellmen. I think the answer is somewhere between not many and none. Anyway, this guy was kind of cool He had a sort of a foreign accent.

By Rene Godefroy

Employee motivation is a hot topic. We all know that employee motivation drives productivity. But how do you keep employees motivated? Well, in my opinion, companies can do very little to motivate you. Why? Because true motivation begins when we are internally driven.

For years, I have heard people say they feel that the company is exploiting them. They may be right. And some form of exploitation will always exist. But I have always had a different point of view. And it is this: We have the power to exploit any company instead of them exploiting us. Let me explain…

If you have heard my speech or read my book No Condition is Permanent, you already know how I came to America unable to speak English and with only $5. Apparently, I would be a prime target for exploitation.

But instead, I was motivated to seize every opportunity that would increase my value in the workforce. I didn’t wait for the company to motivate me. Their idea of employee motivation was to fit their agenda. But I had an agenda of my own.

Would you like to know how to do the same? Wouldn’t it be awesome if you could do the exploitation instead? Good. Here’s how to do it:
"Years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” — Mark Twain

Many people believe one of the myths of success: that in order to achieve anything significant in life one must come from a background full of resources. There are those who look at where they are in life and conclude that it’s impossible to make it to the top. Have you met people like this, those who blame their failure on their past?

Somewhere in their subconscious they believe their past (where they started in life) is the reason they are barely surviving today. This is far from the truth. When I look at how far I have come to be where I am today, I can’t help thinking that you and I have more inside us than we could ever imagine.

Against All Odds

I was born in extreme poverty in a tiny village in Haiti. Haiti is located south of Florida, with the Atlantic Ocean to the north and the Caribbean Sea to the south. While not all people on the island are poor, the people in my village certainly were. The village is about two miles long and one mile wide. It is located on the extreme southside in the backwoods of Haiti.

We had no running water, no plumbing, and no electricity. We didn’t have access to medical care. I still remember the first time I saw lights. They were the headlights of an old and battered truck they called Voici Phane (vwah-see fahn), which means here is Phane…the truck owner’s name.

Things were difficult in my village. By the time I was five or six years old, I was walking long distances on narrow and dangerous pathways to collect drinking water from a wellspring, and to fetch wood for cooking. I started climbing coconut and mango trees for survival. As a little boy, I remember using my hands to eat because we had no silverware.

For plates, we used half calabashes, which are like big watermelons grown out of a tree (except they are not edible). The folks would cut them in half, clean out the inside, and let them dry in the sun so that they would become the consistency of wood.

Every child in my village was poor; but I was worse off—most of them had at least one parent present. When I became aware of my surroundings, I realized I didn’t have my father or mother around me. My father, who was no help to me, had children all over Haiti.

He traveled from very far to take advantage of young, innocent women; and he abandoned Maman while she was still pregnant with me. I learned that my mother left me when I was only nine months old. The neighbors told me Maman suffered very much because she was so poor.

One morning she decided to venture to the city, Port-au-Prince, to discover what life had in store for her—and to end a lifetime of poverty. She left me behind with a lady named Betila. They told me Maman had planned to send for me as soon as she could, but life in the city was tough and things didn’t turn out the way she expected. It would be a long time before she could send for me.

As soon as Maman took off, I became ill. Many deadly diseases vowed to end my existence so much so that I often lost all my strength. My unhealthy diet, which mostly consisted of breadfruit, added to my misery. Do you know what breadfruit is? It looks like pineapples on the outside but tastes like extra tough potatoes.

My already weak digestive system could not process this much starch; but since I survived by eating breadfruit night and day, my stomach was always bloated. I had constant indigestion, and parasites were eating me alive.

I wanted to give up many times because my body was so weak, but my spirit refused to do so. It wanted me to stay in the ring and fight one more battle. I spent most of my time during the day sitting on a dirt floor fanning flies off my face; and at night, I shooed away the mosquitoes. I was so alone. There were times when I wondered whether I had been brought to this earth by a spirit who had then abandoned me.

Every day I cried for my mother’s help. I heard that I had a sister and a brother in the City with Maman. I wanted to be close to my family. Perhaps then I could be touched, even held. Psychologists tell us that children who are not cuddled, held, and touched have a tendency to shrink and die early. I desperately needed some type of affection.
_______________________________________________
This is an excerpt from Rene Godefroy's Book No Condition is Permanent .
I'm on my way to the airport to catch a flight to Chicago. This month has been very busy for me. But I'm not complaining. I am doing what I love. It's my passion. I am impacting lives!

Unless you have read my book No Condition is Permanent, you would not understand why I am so excited about what I do. I am the child who grew up in extreme poverty in a tiny and impoverished Haitian village. Many of the people in the village had given up hope that I would survive.

I made it! And life is wonderful in America. I'm traveling the country keynoting conferences for fortune 500 companies. This is awesome! I want to encourage you to stay the course. Yes, it may be hard but it's possible. Stay with it and one day you will feel the same way I feel. Trust me, it wasn't all that easy for me. But I stayed with it.

When I get back from Chicago, I will be sharing the reactions I get from my audience. Meanwhile, keep your eyes on the prize!

I am going to challenge you today to get into the habit of doing what brings results. It is crazy how we log on the internet and in a matter of a few minutes, we are lost. The very best thing to do is to turn off your email, instant messenger and browser while you are working on an important task.

There are many activities that we engage in that don't bring any results. But for whatever reason, we just can’t stay away. If you are a small business owner, there are hundreds of tasks calling for your attention. But to be successful, you don’t have to focus on all those tasks at once. Your focus should always be on three things at a time. It’s easy to get distracted and start engaging in trivial activities. Don’t let that be you.

Here’s how you can a very highly productive individual:

Take a sheet of paper and draw a line in the middle. On the left side put “things to start doing” as a heading. And on the right side put “things to stop doing.”

Write down your daily activities and challenge yourself to stop doing the things that are not critical to your success. In order to save money and increase revenue, accountants practice zero base thinking. Whenever something is not critical to the company’s success, they get rid of it. You too should get into the habit of eliminating annoying tasks. It’s you may enjoy doing those tasks. But do they bring in revenue? Are they helping you to produce results?

And finally, go through your day thinking that at the end of the day you will have to tell an imaginary board of your corporation what you did to bring revenue to the company. Trust me, with that kind of attitude, you will achieve more in one month than an entire year.

Go ahead start putting this strategy into practice. It’s not about doing things right; it’s rather about doing the right things. I wish you incredible success!

Feel free to visit Rene's site. Click here now

Motivational-keynote-speaker

I am talking about la crème de la crème. Now, I was warned that engineers are usually a tough crowd. But to my surprise, they were extremely responsive to my speech. I can honestly say that they were one of best audiences. Here are the three main points I covered…

1- Be nice to the people in your village. This is after I told them about my village impoverished village in Haiti and how some of the mean were mean to me. I then took it further to illustrate the power of teamwork. I emphasized the need to be there for each other.

What I mean by that is the gift of presence. You see, we can never make it in life without enlisting the support of others. Therefore, it is imperative that we are nice to people. One of the ways to be show our kindness is to give simple yet meaningful gifts to others.

Sometimes the gift can be that of sincerely listening to someone or a sincere compliment. By giving little gifts, you will active the law of reciprocity in your favor. People are conditioned to give back and return favors. Imagine giving little gifts to hundred of people.

2- The second point was to dare to be uncomfortable. Most people want to live a comfortable life. But to have that kind of life, we have to first live an uncomfortable one. Also, some people will shrink their dreams to meet their income, title or position. We need to stretch.

The best fruits of the tree are on the limbs of the tree. And it’s the same for life. We have to risk falling to get those fruits. The main point here is this: If we are not getting more out of life, we are not risking. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes. It’s the only way you can advance to greater and better things in life. It’s how you get what you want!

Being comfortable is our nature. When we were babies in our mother’s womb, we were very comfortable. When we are born, our parents’ priorities are to make us feel comfortable. They stayed all night to rock us until we are comfortable and go to sleep.

The pattern continues even after we leave our parents. As adults, we do everything we can just to be comfortable. It’s time to break the cycle. Say this to yourself, “if I am comfortable, I must not be advancing.” If you are afraid of taking a new position because you think it will make you feel uncomfortable, it’s time to take the risk. You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great. Even if you are afraid, do it anyway.

3- The third point was to live life inside out. We must change internally before we can see external changes. If you are living your life according to what others say or think, you are doomed. No one knows exactly what you are worth - not even you. History is replete with people who were revered as geniuses even without a formal education.

There’s a story about an eagle that were raised with turkeys. The eagle walked around like a turkey and never knew it could fly high. Then one day another visiting eagle met the eagle/turkey and shouted, “You are not a turkey! You are an eagle just like me. Fly!” And sure enough the eagle flew high and never come back to being a turkey.

Perhaps you are hanging around too many turkeys and they often remind you that you are a turkey. But I am here to say that is a lie. I was there and that’s how they made me feel, too. Now that I am flying high, I want to be that visiting eagle in your life. It’s time to try to do things you have never attempted to try because you have been thinking less of yourself.

Here’s the secret to breaking that cycle. If you do this one little and simple exercise, miracles will happen in your life. It works like magic! Don’t let your intellectual get in the way of doing this exercise. I know your logic will tell you that this is too obvious. But do it anyway. Are you ready for it? Great!

Ask yourself this question and you will experience significant results in your life. You will become much more innovative and creative. Here it is: “How can I…?” For example: How can I get this project completed in 5 months? How can I sell $100,000 worth of products in one year? How can I change this situation (name the situation.)? Write down all your answers.

Keep asking yourself the same question over and over, and you will begin to experience magic in your life. A floodgate of answers will rush to you. Either consciously or unconsciously, all highly successful people ask themselves this question on ongoing basis.

Go for it!
